Where To Hide It?

Ezra Standish pressed the gun harder against the suspect's left temple. An evil smile crossed his features as he pulled the trigger. He knew the chamber was empty, he had checked it himself.

The sound of a gunshot exploded around the room. Blood splattered across Ezra's face. He stood in shock, staring down at the man he had just killed.

"Ezra!" Vin yelled at him, "What in the hell have you done?"

"I thought that would be obvious Mr Tanner!" Ezra retorted.

"You killed him."

"Didn't I just say that it was obvious!"

"Yeah you did, but Ezra, you killed him."

"Tell me something I don't know."

"According to the Texas Department of Transportation, one person is killed annually painting stripes on the state's highways and roads."

"Really," Ezra raised an eyebrow and licked his lower lip at the same time, "so if they have five people working for them and they don't replace them as they die, then the poor guys who paint the stripes will be playing the short straw game wondering who would be next."

"Something like that." Vin nodded.

"Interesting tibit Vin." Ezra acknowledge.

"Gee, thanks Ezra."

"Now Vin, my old mate, pal, friend of mine," Ezra moved to his side and put his arm around his shoulders, "what are we going to do with him." he nodded to the slumped corspe on the table.

"Hide him," Vin shrugged.

"Excellent idea!" Ezra beamed with pride, Vin was learning well. "Where?"

"Where what?"

"Where do we hide him?"

"How would I know? I haven't done this sort of thing before," said Vin.

"Well I have so let me think."

Ezra rubbed his forehead with his right hand in an effort to think. Sometimes he found thinking a hard thing to do. It usually gave him a headache for his efforts.

"The closet!" he slapped his forehead and grimaced at the pain he caused himself.

"They keep a closet in the interrigation room?" Vin opened his eyes wider in surprise.

"Yes and it's for accidents like this."

Both men moved quickly to the closet and opened the double doors.

"Damn! It's full already."

"So where now Ezra?"

Vin didn't look at his partner, instead his light blue eyes travelled over the three rotting corpses that had already been hidden away in the closet.

"Help me Vin, start thinking."

"What about under the carpet?" Vin suggested.

"No good pal-o-mine with elephant sized testiciles," Ezra patted Vin's shoulder in support, "there are already two many lumps under the carpet."

"Some of those lumps are dirt, maybe we could throw the dirt on top and put the body under the carpet in it's place."

"What!" Ezra was shocked to the core. "We'll lose our jobs if we leave this room dirty, you know what the cleaners are like Vin."

"Yeah, sorry Ezra, I forgot."`

"Tis okay Vin."

"Hey! What about throwing him out of the window. There are so many bodies on the pavement now that they would never notice him."

"Great idea Vin. You get the window, I'll get the body."

Vin took four large steps towards the window and groaned out loud.

"Shit!" Vin cursed.

"What?"

"There's bars on the window now."

"Shit!"

"Yeah, shit."

"Toilet!" Ezra yelled causing Vin to jump in surprise."

"You have to take him out of the room Ezra."

"No, I mean I need the toilet."

"It can wait Ezra, you need to hide the body."

"I need to hide the body!" Ezra said angrily.

"Yeah you. You're the one that killed the idiot, and I should remind you that he was only a suspect."

"Fine, I'll hide the body as usual."

"As usual? Are you saying that this has happened before?"

"Well . . . yes . . . but I wasn't that did all the shooting."

"Who did the shooting?" Vin demanded to know.

"Mr Larabee . . . must have been about four, Buck shot two and JD shot one."

"Chris only shot four?"

"Yes and this one is my second."

"Guess I'm going to have to shoot one just to be in the group." Vin chuckled.

"Do it while Chris is with you. He gets some good ideas to hide the body."

"Will do, man who has more sperm than any otherman I know."

"Where to hide him?"

Ezra began to look around the room. There was a body propped up against the wall that was now being used as a chair. Another on the South wall of the room, had been turned into a lamp; there's a burning smell every time you turn it on but the light shining through the eye sockets more than makes up for it.

"Why do we have to hide him?"

"Because . . .," Ezra turned to face Vin and refused to look at the bulging front of his friend's jeans, "we don't have to hide him do we."

Ten minutes later the two men left the room, leaving the door wide open. The suspect could be seen through the opening. He'd been cleaned up, his eyes were wide up and his mouth was closed. Two arms were resting on the table.

"Hey Charlie," Ezra yelled out to the man behind the desk.

"Don't worry about the guy in room two, we'll be back in a few months to continue questioning him.

"No worries Standish, I'm sure he'll still be there when you come back."

"Thanks Charlie." Vin thanked the man.

"Well, friend who should wear bigger jeans, another problem solved."

"Certainly is Ezra, pal who shouldn't wear clothes that make you look gay."

The two friends left the building while a corpse in Interview room two made himself comfortable. It was going to be a long wait before those two came back. The End.
