Giles went to get everyone something to eat while Xander showed his family around the place where he used to go to school. The boys were incredibly impressed when they found out that their father had helped to create the destruction they saw all around them.
After the tour, Ghost wanted to check out the Hellmouth, so they returned to the old library. Ghost sat next to the whole in the floor and easily put herself into a trance. She used her mage sight to look at the Hellmouth and was astonished by what she found. "Daddy! It's a node! A really big one! We can shut it down, forever."
"What? Are you sure?"
Ghost nodded emphatically. "I can send it through the gate. We'll use it to start our own Heartstone."
"Isn't it dangerous? It's caused nothing but trouble here."
Ghost shook her head, "That's because there aren't any controls on it. It's leaking. If I drain it, it'll be harmless. The power will rebuild, but it'll take a long time and I can put blocks on it so it won't leak any more."
XAnder frowned, "I don't want you to do anything dangerous, honey. Are you sure you can handle this?"
"I can contact Firesong and have him get the new Heartstone ready. And I'll need something to transfer the Key into."
Xander thought about it for a moment then gave his permission. "Okay, contact Firesong. But if he says it's too dangerous that's it. You understand me?"
Ghost sighed, "Yes, Daddy."

Firesong was all for Ghost's idea and assured Xander that his daughter was more than capable of handling the transfer. He'd be waiting on the other end to make sure the new Heartstone was charged properly. He then sent a crystal the size of a basketball through the gate for Ghost to use as the new Key.
Giles returned with dinner for them all, plus several candy bars for Xander and his family. Even Wintermoon became an instant chocoholic. Giles made plans to buy as much chocolate as he could for Xander to take with him.
Joyce brought Dawn to the school, but Buffy didn't come with them. Joyce apologized, "I'm sure she'll get over it, Xander. You know how she can be."
Xander shrugged. "Don't worry about it, Ms. Summers, I'm not going to."
**********
Ghost had Dawn sit down in front of her and placed the crystal between them. Ghost smiled at the other girl. "Don't worry. I'm really good at this, you won't feel a thing."
Dawn smiled nervously, "I trust you. But are you sure this won't destroy me?"
Ghost giggled, "You'll be fine. You'll a real person, you just have a whole lot of power tied to you. I'll move it to the crystal and that'll be it."
Dawn took a deep breath and clutched her mother's hand, "Okay, let's do it."
Ghost raised both her hands, one palm facing Dawn and one over the crystal. She shut her eyes and opened her mage sight. With a mental hand, she grabbed the power tied to Dawn and directed it to the crystal. She heard a gasp as the power started to move, but didn't stop what she was doing. Once the power was in its new home she opened her eyes and smiled at Dawn. "All done. This is now the Key." She said, pointing to the glowing crystal.
"Thanks, hon. That'll make it so much easier on me."
Everyone turned and saw Glory standing in the doorway. She walked into the room and reached for the crystal, but Xander was waiting for her.
He placed himself between Glory and his daughter. "That's not yours. Stealing is so rude."
Glory snarled, "I'm not sure how you got the Spear of V'Kandis, and I don't really care. But the Key is mine!"
Xander pulled the Spear from its sling and let its power loose. "I told you, my father gave it to me. His name is V'Kandis, the Sun God. He and my mother would really like to meet you. Maybe you've heard of her too. Her name is Kal'enel; people say I have her eyes."
Glory took a step back, "That's not possible."
Xander grinned, "I'm adopted." He swung the Spear and opened a gash across Glory's chest. "Oops, I messed up your dress. I'm sooo sorry."
The fight was fast and furious. When it became obvious that she wouldn't even be able to get her hands on Xander, Glory tried to leave. But Wintermoon and the Beast were waiting for her. She took a step back and turned on Xander. "You are so dead."
Xander just grinned, "Bring it on."
Glory lunged for the Spear and Xander let her have it, right in the belly. He released the power in the Spear and watched as Glory started to glow. Smoke started to roll out of her ears and she screamed. Xander twisted the Spear and pushed it in a little farther. "See ya."
Glory burst into flames and crumbled to dust. Xander blew on the tip of the Spear and polished it on the edge of his tunic. Giles was staring at him and Xander shrugged, "Dad gets annoyed when it gets dirty."
**********
Ghost waved at Firesong through the portal and started the transfer. Even those not gifted with mage sight could see the power leaving the Hellmouth and moving through the gate. It took over an hour for the transfer to be complete. Once it was done, Ghost set up self-generating shields over the Hellmouth and let the small trickle of power remaining take over.
Joyce, Dawn and Giles stood next to their friends in front of the gate to say goodbye. Dawn even hugged Ghost and whispered, "I wish you could stay. I'd like to have you for a friend."
Ghost smiled, "Our worlds will be in conjunction again in three years, your time. Maybe I can come visit. Or you could come visit us. I think you'd really like our valley."
Joyce hugged Xander and kissed his cheek. "I'm going to miss you, Xander. Take care of yourself."
"I will, Joyce. Tell Buffy and Willow I said goodbye, all right?"
Joyce nodded, wishing her daughter wasn't being such a bitch.
Giles handed Xander a huge box, "It's chocolate, as many different kinds as I could find."
Xander almost cried, he handed the box to Wintermoon and hugged Giles tightly, "I'm going to miss you, Giles." Xander took a step back and looked through the gate at his friends, then turned back to Giles. "Come with us. Buffy works for the Council again, she can get a new Watcher. Please, Giles. You'll love it there. I'm sure Firesong can teach you magic. Think of what you can learn. There'll be new people to meet, new things to learn. Please. Come with us."
Joyce pushed Giles towards the gate, "Go Giles. You've done enough here. It's time to do something for yourself. Go. Or you'll never forgive yourself."
Giles took off his glasses and absently polished them. Ghost took them away and put her hand on Giles' head for a moment. When she took her hand away, she dropped his glasses on the floor. "You don't need them anymore. Come with us, Mr. Giles. We want you to."
Mika and Flin tugged on Giles' hands, "Come with us." They said in unison.
"I don't...I really shouldn't." Giles stammered.
Xander nodded his head, "Yes you should. Come on. It'll be fun. Besides, my folks have always wanted to meet you."
Giles took a step closer to the gate, the people on the other side smiled and extended their hands to him.
Xander and his family said goodbye to Joyce and Dawn one more time before stepping through the gate. Giles looked at the burned out remains of his library then back at the green valley and the people waiting for him on the other side of the gate.
"What the Hell." He said as he stepped into his new life.
